Learn more about Art Cars at this special screening, prior to seeing over 20 art cars, Sept. 10-12 at the Hot Times Festival's annual Art Car invitational, Main & Parsons, on the lawn of the Health Dept.
The Wild Wheels @ Mad Lab is designed to let the public learn more about the history of Art Cars (using the car as your artistic canvas), bring attention to the Hot Times Festival, and help support the Art Car initiates in town. Throughout the summer Ramona Moon and Greg Phelps, art car artists, have been teaching workshops on creating an art car.
On Aug. 31, two of Harrod Blank’s art car films will be shown, Wild Wheels (75 min) and In the Land of the Owl Turds (30 min). Admission is by donation, no pre-tickets are being sold. There will be a 15 min break between films.
In addition to the films, a few art cars will be on view and food can be purchased. Ramona Moon, also known as Christine Hayes, appears in Wild Wheels, as one of the 46 art car artists featured. Among her many accolades, Ramona this summer won the Thurber writing contest (for the 2nd time). Most recently Columbus will see her driving the MoonBeamer CORNLUMBUS and the Motley Malibu art cars.
